Don't Judge Me.

I'm obsessed.

It needs some work. But it was a quick sketch.

Angst.

I've been emersing myself in the world of Silent Hill for the past several days. Call it an obsession if you must. I call it a passion. However, I have one thing to say...
Silent Hill 1-4 are brilliant and beautiful.

However, I cannot get past....

Silent Hill: Origins/Homecoming/Shattered Memories, Silent Hill: The Movie, and Silent Hill: The Comics.
I hate you.
Thank you for ruining something I loved.

This is what I look like right about now:

I am disgusting, useless, please let me die.

Dear Climax (Origins/Shattered Memories),
Keep your dirty hands out of my beautiful town.
Alessa is NOT evil, and never was.
I hate you.

Dear FREAKS-WHO-MADE-HOMECOMING,
Stay away from Silent Hill.

Dear Sam Barlow (Writer: Origins/Shattered Memories)
You know nothing about Silent Hill.

A Long Term Project

I've been working for some time on a Silent Hill fan game. The original concept was a 2D Silent Hill 1 remake, because I'm a nerd with a soft spot for 8/16bit graphics. However, I believe I have conceived a new concept, taking place during Silent Hill 1 (the return of Alessa's other half, Cheryl, seven years after the great fire), but mostly independent of Harry and Cybil's adventures.

Allow me to correspond with a few of my associates before construct a storyline worth posting about.

I wish to stay true to the SH1 nature and atmostphere, leaving scare tactics mostly up to anticipation, rather than surprise/shock like most survival horror games. I have mentioned once before that I would really like to build this game in a 2D enviornment, giving it a unique look and feel from other SH games, but I want to still create a scary world for the player. This is going to prove to be a challenge, but as SH has proven for us all, it doesn't take dozens of monsters and loud surprises to make a game scary, but the fear of what exactly might be waiting for you.

I also hope to remain flush with the story/timeline of SH1, without accidentally creating plot holes, or worse, making up my own version of this extremely complex serious of events.

I'll be posting back soon about this.
Suggestions/comments/concerns about what I need to remember, please, please, feel free.
