And I've got weird things to share. To begin, I've just discovered weird secret messages on the inside of my cigarette packs. No, no, I don't mean the surgeon general's warning. Allow me to explain...
I smoke Camel Blue shorts, in a box. Easy enough, right? I've seen many packs of these cigarettes, and today, I looked down and noticed words on the inside on the folding top. The words read:
NOW THAT'S A CAMEL.
I have literally never seen words written here before. Curious, I dug through the trash and excavated three empty boxes. I looked at all of them and found another message: 44TH ST. BILLBOARD.
Whoas, I said. I quickly went to Google and implored it.
Google, please, why are there strange messages in my cigarettes, I asked. After a while, only one lead turned up: a Camel billboard on 44th & Broadway in Times Square. However, I couldn't find anywhere else online about the messages, specifically.
[Edit: Follow this
link to see the billboard.]
I'm expecting a distress message next.
Any ideas?
I've seen these messages as well, scavenger hunt?
ReplyDeleteI have found two more messages, MCMXIII which stands for 1913 which happens to be the year the company was started, and a really strange one with a drawing showing a man and a camel on opposite sides and a line between them with 1mi written bellow, i guess it stands for one mile but I'm still confused
ReplyDeleteTheir slogan used to be "I'd walk a mile for a camel."
Deletei found, "winston + salem = 1913

I myself just noticed this today... I had seen the walk a mile for a camel image and thought nothing of it until I saw 44th Street Billboard and just had to look it up which lead to your site. at first my thought was these are all Camels old slogans and advertisements. until I got to another empty pack and it just says: THANKS. With the. At the end, does anyone know if this single word is also a Camel slogan?
ReplyDeleteWow old post. :) I've never gotten one that says Thanks. Maybe some of them are just random stuff like that? I don't think it could be a slogan, but then again maybe some old billboard just said Thanks. hrmm...
DeleteYou guys are dumb as hell
ReplyDeleteSmoking is bad for you!
ReplyDeleteMmmmmkay
Deletethey're still doing it . I found 44th St Billboard printed which prompted me to search out why it might be there
ReplyDeleteTheyre just old advertising slogans of the brand.no scavenger hunt lol
DeleteI just got a pack with 44th St billboard on it too

ReplyDeleteHmmm. Better go out and buy a bunch of smokes to find more messages.
ReplyDeleteWow...this much discussion and no one ( save for Mr.Powell) realized Camel is gripping to old slogans in a probable final attempt to reach out and sell their death on a box. BTW I smoke filters, so I understand the hypocrisy of this, but seriously, you thought this mattered?
